Neurotoxins
Neurotoxin is the blanket term for Botox and Dysport. Both of these neurotoxins are derived from the same protein, Botulinum Toxin Type A. They are essentially the “same.” Both products are very effective but are made by two different companies. Dysport generally starts working faster than Botox for most people. However, some people report one can work better than the other for them.
Each person is different and the answer to which works better varies among people. This is why we carry both at The Aesthetic Label. If you don’t know which one to choose, don’t worry. We can help you determine which is the best for you at your appointment.

Botox and Dysport work by interrupting the communication between nerves and muscles, resulting in muscle relaxation. These treatments effectively prevent or reduce wrinkles and lines on the face and neck. Additionally, they are utilized to address hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) in areas such as underarms, hands, and feet. When targeting sweat reduction, neurotoxins inhibit the secretion of the chemical responsible for activating sweat glands. At d’lux aesthetics, we offer a range of other treatments that utilize neurotoxins, and we would be delighted to provide you with detailed information during your visit.
Botox and Dysport leave the body rather quickly after being injected. The time you see results is the time it takes the body to reestablish communication between the nerve and muscle again. This is why you see movement return gradually.

If you notice wrinkles or lines on your Glabella (11's), Frontalis (forehead lines), and Crowsfeet (around the eyes) even without expression, these are referred to as static lines. It's a clear indication that it's time to consider using Botox or Dysport! Starting these treatments early, as soon as these lines emerge, is highly beneficial. They can not only reduce the appearance of such lines but also work best as a preventive measure. Depending on the severity of the static lines, Botox and Dysport can lead to their healing or halt their progression.
To put it in perspective, think of wrinkling a piece of paper—once the lines are there, they persist despite efforts to smooth them out. They may diminish, but they remain visible. The less damage your skin endures over time, the easier it becomes to achieve complete correction rather than mere improvement.

Results last 3 months, on average.
However, individual experiences can vary. Some people may see results lasting for two months, while others may enjoy the effects for up to four months. In many cases, the skin can maintain an improved appearance beyond the three-month mark. Nevertheless, we recommend treatments every three months to prevent the reformation of old wrinkles and the emergence of new ones. In some cases, consistent use over time can lead to longer-lasting results, reducing the frequency of appointments needed to maintain the desired outcome.
Botox and Dysport are dosed differently due to variations in the size of their molecules, despite both being derived from the same protein. Dysport has a smaller molecule size, which is why a higher number of units is used compared to Botox. For instance, a typical full treatment for the upper face may require around 50 units of Botox, whereas Dysport may require approximately 150 units for a similar treatment. However, the number of injection sites remains the same for both products. The ratio between the two is roughly 3:1, but there's no need for you to worry about the calculations. We have your back (or forehead)! The cost of the treatments is comparable between Botox and Dysport.

Let's talk about fillers! At The Aesthetic Label, we prioritize the use of the safest dermal fillers available. Most of our dermal fillers are composed of hyaluronic acid (HA), a substance naturally produced in your body. Yes, that's right—our bodies produce hyaluronic acid! It's a clear, gel-like compound, a complex sugar, primarily present in your skin, connective tissue, and eyes. Its primary function is to retain moisture and provide lubrication to these areas. Interestingly, we have discovered that when hyaluronic acid is produced externally, it can effectively reverse signs of aging by restoring volume and structure to the face.
While the hyaluronic acid in our bodies resembles the one in syringes, manufactured hyaluronic acid comes in various consistencies, characteristics, and sizes. This is because not all hyaluronic acid is the same. Just like an artist who uses different mediums to create different art, expert injectors select fillers based on the specific areas they are working on, such as temples, cheeks, undereye, lips, jawline, or chin. Choosing the right filler for your aesthetic goals is not something you need to worry about. We will guide you through the process, helping you select the most suitable filler or combination of fillers to achieve your desired results.

The duration of hyaluronic acid-based dermal fillers can vary depending on several factors, including the specific product used, the treated area, individual metabolism, and lifestyle factors. On average, the effects of hyaluronic acid fillers typically last between 6 to 18 months. That being said, once we get you to your goal you will have long-lasting results that only require an annual touchup.
Some hyaluronic acid fillers are designed to provide longer-lasting results compared to others. Products with higher cross-linking or greater viscosity tend to have a more durable effect. For example, certain formulations may be specifically indicated for deeper facial wrinkles or areas that require more volume restoration, and these may have a longer duration of action.
Additionally, the rate at which hyaluronic acid fillers break down can be influenced by individual metabolism and lifestyle factors. Factors such as smoking, excessive sun exposure, and a fast metabolic rate can potentially accelerate the breakdown of the filler, resulting in a shorter duration of effect.

Day 1: After microneedling, your skin may look and feel like you have a sunburn. You may also experience skin tightness and mild sensitivity. This will diminish greatly by the next day.
Day 2: Makeup can be applied after 24-48 hours post-treatment. Mineral makeup is best.
Day 3: Most of the visible redness will resolve. Continue to moisturize with Vaseline or CeraVe®. If your skin is flaking, please do not pull or pick. You may schedule a dermaplane treatment.
Day 3-5: Resume a skin care regimen with a gentle cleanser.
Day 5-7: Resume retinols, Vitamin C, salicylic acid, or glycolic acids. If your skin feels more sensitive than usual, hold off on these products and continue using the CeraVe® moisturizer.

Schedule your procedure to allow for 3 – 5 days of facial redness, possible bruising and flaking.
Please avoid irritants (such as retinol, retinoid, glycolic acids, salicylic acids, benzoyl peroxide, alpha or beta hydroxy acids, astringents, Nair and Vitamin C) to your face for 7 days before treatment.
If you are on the medication Accutane (for acne), it is recommended to stop this treatment for 6 months before microneedling.
If your skin is irritated, please contact our office at least 24 hours prior to appointment to reschedule. If you have skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, cystic or inflammatory acne, inform your Medical Aesthetic Provider.
If you have an active cold sore/fever blister, canker sore or shingles you will need to postpone treatment. If you are prone to developing cold sores/fever blisters or shingles, please contact us 1 week before treatment for recommendations.
Do not schedule a procedure if you are pregnant, suspect you are pregnant or are breastfeeding. Pregnant or breastfeeding clients cannot get microneedling.
Clients actively undergoing chemotherapy or radiation treatment cannot be treated. Clients must be in remission 6 months to be treated.
You can combine microneedling treatment the same-day as dermal fillers and wrinkle relaxers.
Inform your Medical Aesthetic Provider of all medical conditions, medications you are taking, skin disorders, allergies, history of anaphylaxis and any other medical problems.
Tylenol will not cause bruising and is preferred for the week prior to treatment. To avoid possible discomfort, you may take acetaminophen (Tylenol) 1 hour prior to your scheduled appointment.
Excess hair may need to be shaved. Men should be cleanly shaved 24 hours before treatment.

During the first 24 hours, you will need to keep your skin well moisturized with CeraVe® cream, ZO Skin Health Hydrating Crème or Vaseline only. These products are non-irritating, hypoallergenic, and are a great option during this 24-hour period.
Please do not use any other products, cleansers or makeup in the first 24 hours.
Skin may be rinsed gently with lukewarm water between applications of CeraVe®.
No exercising or sweating for 48 hours as this can irritate the skin and cause an outbreak.
No sun exposure 72 hours after treatment. Wear SPF 30+ after Day 3.
